TIME, PASSED FORWARD.
Our founder inherited his grandfather’s name and his Girard-Perregaux pocket watch. Together, they helped shape his understanding of what is worth passing on.
His grandfather, Arves, was up at five each morning. He approached life with a strong work ethic and an engineering mind, finding problems to solve and ways to improve the things around him. His example taught his grandson to look closely, ask questions and take satisfaction in work done well.
The pocket watch invited that same attention. Its skeleton design revealed the mechanism within: the interaction of gears, the movement of the balance and the precision of components working together. Looking closer brought new understanding. Understanding brought deeper appreciation.
That watch began a lifelong fascination with horology. It also made something personal clear: engineering and care could give an object a life that extended across generations. The mechanism could be maintained. The watch could continue its work. And with it, a connection to the person who had carried it before.
That connection is the foundation of ARVÈS.
It shapes the questions we bring to our own wristwatches. How reliably will the movement perform? How thoughtfully do the components fit together? Our home in Salt Lake City gives those principles their visual expression. Reflected light on salt and water. The texture and structure of exposed stone. Polished facets meet brushed steel, and deliberate proportions bring the whole into balance. Every detail should serve the watch and reward a closer look.
Our founder carries his grandfather’s spirit into that work. The ambition is personal: to create timepieces you value for their engineering, love for their beauty and make your own through a lifetime of wearing them. One day, the watch you pass on will carry a story only you could give it.

SALT AND STONE.
To the west, salt, water and reflected sky stretch toward the horizon. To the east, the Wasatch rises from the valley, giving way to alpine forests, exposed stone and the high country of the Uintas.
That contrast shapes the way we design. Polished surfaces meet brushed steel. Refined details meet forms built to be used. Light moves across crisp edges and sculpted curves much as it moves across water, salt and stone.
